Our late father (Rudy Torralba Mercado) established the company in 1974 as a duct cleaning service (Leogem Chemicals & Services). From 1974 thru 1978, he saw the need for a solvent to fight grease and dirt trapped in kitchen exhaust duct. That was when he formulated his own solvent: the HOPE-7 cleaning solvent launched in 1978. Rudy Torralba Mercado passed away in July 2016. He is survived by his wife, 10 children, and many grandchildren. With his passing, his family continues to operate the Leogem company to commemorate his legacy and passion for entrepreneurship and innovation. Rudy Torralba Mercado passed away in July 2016. He is survived by his wife, 10 children, and many grandchildren. With his passing, his family continues to operate the Leogem company to commemorate his legacy and passion for entrepreneurship and innovation. He has passed on his proprietary HOPE-7 ingredients solely to his wife and 10 children -- never to leave outside his immediate family. No other company can produce our patent-pending HOPE-7 cleaning solvent. Its formula is top-secret! HOPE-7 was named after the 7th child of Rudy and his wife, Marilene Mercado.
This year, we are re-launching our HOPE-7 product to make it more commercialized, smell better and cleaner, and still keep its active, powerful ingredients intact. HOPE-7 cleaning solvent has ingredients approved by the FDA* (Food and Drug Administration) and classified as “generally recommended as safe” (GRAS), is not harmful to the environment when handled and disposed of properly, and can pass as food-grade if ever consumed inadvertently in small, marginal volume.
